Who would’ve expected…
that we would end up in a bit of a crisis like this. Here in Germany because of the coronavirus, schools have been closed for about two weeks now. It feels like Germany reacted to this pandemic crisis a bit too late compared to Japan or other Asian countries. I’ve been hearing the news from my parents about Japan, reading about it regards to the world news online (and we don’t have a TV at home now so we don’t see the news), but in our area because it’s a small village it feels still a bit surreal.
We don’t see people wearing masks too much, or hardly anybody. to teach online and I think it gives a great chance for many people to still practice yoga at home in the comfort of their living room, or bedroom, or wherever it may be. As for me, I am at home with our baby and hubby is also doing some home-office. So I am enjoying the time we can spend together. I actually have a small yoga group that I have been teaching privately. I mean, it is a family friend so it feels almost like a friends gathering and enjoying some fitness together. Because of this situation, I’m also trying to do the online yoga lessons with them, and I think that might be the best way right now. It’s not the most ideal because I’d rather be with the students and be able to correct them or really physically be there for them.
In a time of crisis like this, online is a way to go I guess. I was supposed to start teaching at the University this semester, but it might end up being an online conference style as well. We will see how this will go…..
It’s a good thing that we have some sunshine here and there and we are feeling that the spring Just around the corner. We were supposed to stay 1.5 m away from everybody but I appreciate that I have some time with my family to go for walks, play indoors together. And try to be creative to stay happy and positive.
Stay strong and healthy everyone!
At a time like this, I’m doing some baking and also more yoga at home.
Hubby enjoys some private lesson from me, and our baby is also enjoying coming on the yoga matt with us. I’ll try and post some yoga tips and recipes here!
Today, I baked some Eggless Lemon Yogurt cake since I had some extra yogurt that I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish before the expiration date. (LOL) The Recipe is from here, https://anitalianinmykitchen.com/easy-yogurt-cake/#wprm-recipe-container-14550 but I changed it a bit since I used a banana and Baking soda for the 3 eggs. Less sugar for my changes, and I used Soy Natural Yogurt. *I usually get the unsweetened Natural Yogurt but I mistakenly got this Natural one so it was slightly sweet. That’s why I used a bit less sugar that what the recipe calls for. Ingredients
- 1 cup any flavor yogurt (250 grams)
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (112 grams)
- 3/4 cup sugar (154.50 grams)
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour (225 grams)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- powdered sugar
1. Mix all the wet ingredients, and then with the dry ingredients.
2. In a preheated oven, (350F/ 175C) bake for about 40 minutes.
I didn’t make the Blueberry sauce that was in the recipe, but it was a yummy cake!
